What are our aims as humanity?

Biologically, there is no “human” meaning in lifes. To understand it better, just remember the first proto-forms of life on the Earth. They were chemical autocatalytic reactions which can be self -generated with the help of external resources like “X + Resources -> X + Surplus”. And that’s about the (protein) life - these reactions can produce themselves and so to prevail not autocatalytic reactions and live forever (till the moment of depletion of external resources). And that's evolution, which is just like observation, it happens automatically. In some sense, humans also are autocatalytic reactions because we can produce ourselves (children) with the help of external resources (energy - food, water). And like reactions we can (and actually do) improve ourselves to adapt (for chemical reactions it can be “X + Resources -> X1 + Surplus”, where X1 can produce itself with more efficiency). And more adapted to the environment species will live longer just by definition. So, life happens and continues in this sense automatically.

From that point of view, it’s natural to continue life as long as possible. And we, humans, can do something unique about that (for example, we can relocate life to other planets just now). But what disturbs us from making humanity and biological life endlessly?

Actually, the Earth will die at some time (because of the typical for stars problems with the Sun) and it’s the first problem. Secondly, our Universe is also going to die and that’s the second problem. Some thinkers count it as the end but I am calling to not make clues too early. So,

1) for solving the 1st problem we need to be able to leave Solar system and find other Earth-like planets (exoplanets);

2) for solving the 2nd problem we need to leave our Universe and enter another one (I believe in the multiverse which seems to me becoming mainstream).

Is it possible? Honestly, we just don’t know. But I think we should try to solve it to do as best as we can (and that’s actually often more important than the result) for our responsibility for life as general. There are some positive evidences:

1) To go beyond Solar systems there should be some vehicles which move at more the speed of light (otherwise we will have to travel a very long time which I think is hard, if possible). It can be warp drives. Elon Musk believes in that and actually he builds a base on Mars to “create a powerful incentive for developing technology that will enable us to travel to other star systems”. It’s a very profound approach and I think we should follow it.

2) For travelling between universities we need some fundamentally new technologies. Fortunately, some physicists think that they are possible. For example, famous theoretical physicist Michio Kaku believes that technology behind the “big freeze” can one day allow us to travel between universes. Neil deGrasse Tyson, on the other hand, says that if you come from a universe with higher dimensions, then it could be as easy to move between dimensions as stepping from one room to another.

So, is it possible? The right answer of course is still that we don’t know but another truth is that it’s not impossible in the future, although it’s impossible now (and our history contains a lot of examples of it). What conclusions can we make from there? I think we should follow Musk’s approach to ready a field for future generations by own example (motivation) and the great state of our civilization (technologies). To do it now we should do our current job, i.e. overcome actual problems. What problems I count such see in the next essay.
