If we are able to program our history, out task should be supporting institutions which lead to prosperity. Here I see 2 parts - support old "well-aged" prosperous institutions like democracy or free market and create and promote new ones which also allow us to gain more value to the world. In what areas these new kind of institutions should be built?
I. Science
Problem - bureaucratic, risk averse, age-discriminatory academic system pushes talented scientists out of it
Solution - private-lead institutions of more risk averse and less bureaucratic funding of science which will possibly affect government structures and force them to reconsider their approaches + new structures of organizing scientific work + new ways to asses the results of scientific work
Good examples: New Science, Arc Institute, FROs, PARPA, Sci-Founders
II. Policymaking
Problem - government structures, due to their inflexibility, do not keep pace with the pace of development of technology and society, therefore they slow them down
Solution - regulatory sandboxes and advising/pressure on public authorities via think-tanks
Good examples: Charter Cities Institute, different think-tanks like Institute for Progress, Roots of Progress, Works in Progress
III. Startups
Problem - startups commercialize technological innovations, so they are the real engine of progress that we need to promote
Solution - any ways of decreasing barriers of doing startups
Good examples: accelerators, VC funds, no-code instruments
IV. Investing
Problem - high barriers to entry into investments prevent people from earning large returns
Solution - any ways of decreasing barriers of investing
Good examples: AngelList, WeFunder, Robinhood (?)
V. Higher education
Problem - the crisis of higher education seems to be happening due to its little use for building a career in non-scientific and complex engineering fields
Solution - creating new ways of building careers
Good examples: Thiel Fellowship, OnDeck, Lambda School
VI. Work
Problem - the changing nature of work for which many employers and even workers are not prepared
Solution - creating new instruments of doing work (physical and digital)
Good examples: a lot of startups
VII. Talent identification and support
Problem - the main support for talented people occurs after they achieve some results (signals), which does not reveal potential talents
Solution - new talent supporting bodies which invest in people (or help them) not signals
Good examples: Pioneer, Emergent Ventures
VIII. Trust
Problem - in a centralized world, there are voices of distrust towards large organizations (governments, corporations)
Solution - web 3.0:)
Good examples: a lot of startups
